An inspection of Machine Bridge in Treforest will take place this Saturday night, subject to weather conditions – scheduled overnight to minimise the disruption of a required road closure.
The work will start at 11pm on Saturday, January 27, and will end by 9am on Sunday, January 28.
The closure will prevent vehicles from travelling on the bridge from Broadway, Treforest, in the direction of Glyntaff Roundabout.
Vehicles travelling in the opposite direction, from Glyntaff Roundabout towards Treforest, will be unaffected.
Please find a map outlining the road closure on the following link to the Council’s website.
The pedestrian/cycle path over the bridge next to the road will also close – however, a short alternative route will be available on the adjacent bridge, around the perimeter of the work area.
An alternative route for motorists travelling from Treforest to Glyntaff Roundabout is via Broadway (B4595), A4058 Cross Valley Link Road, A470 Northbound Link Road, Bridge Street Roundabout, Coedpenmaen Road, Merthyr Road, Pentrebach Road and Glyntaff Roundabout.
Access will not be maintained for emergency service vehicles, but will be maintained to local premises.
Local bus services will be unaffected due to the timing of the road closure, which concludes before the first Sunday bus service.
Thanks in advance to residents and road users for your cooperation.
