The extraordinary achievements of disabled children and young people have been celebrated at a heartwarming awards ceremony, kindly sponsored by Tesco Upper Boat, Glebern Sports Abercynon, and 4vending.
A total of 40 children and young people received nominations for awards, recognising their progress in school, self-awareness, resilience, communication, confidence, tolerance, kindness, and compassion to name a few. Each awardee received a certificate and a trophy in recognition of their achievements.
The awards were presented by Councillor Gareth Caple, Cabinet Member for Health and Social Care, and Annabel Lloyd, Director of Children’s Services.
Cllr. Gareth Caple, Cabinet Member for Health and Social Care, said: “It is an honour to celebrate the achievements of these remarkable young people. Their resilience and strength, along with the unwavering support of their families and caregivers, inspires us all.
“Hosting award ceremonies such as this allows us to reflect on the incredible progress and skills that these young individuals have developed, often in the face of significant challenges.
“I extend my heartfelt congratulations to the awardees as well as their families, caregivers, and support staff for their dedication, hard work, and support.”
